The city will offer a free paper shredding event from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18 at City Hall, 23200 Gratiot Ave. In addition to paper, the following items can be shredded: Paperclips, Staples, Small amounts of cardboard, Small quantities of Floppy discs, CDs, and Flash Drives. Items NOT ACCEPTED include: Batteries, Hard Drives, Computer Screens or computer units, Large amounts of plastic, X-Ray Film, Microfiche, and Large amounts of Tapes or CDs.
