SUMMARY:The Salvation Army Donut Girls 100th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:One hundred years ago\, the first group of Salvation Army Donut Girls set sail for France to aid soldiers on the front lines of WWI.  After just a few weeks\, they were serving nearly 9\,000 doughnuts every day.  They continued to deliver the tasty treats amidst gunfire and bombs through WWI and WWII\, simply to give soldiers a small token of hope and home.  The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit proudly salutes the Donut Girls bravery and compassion on the 100th anniversary of their founding this year. \nEnjoy complimentary donuts & coffee\, Donut Girl history and tours of the museum’s special WWI centennial exhibit. \nBrief ceremony at 9:30 am\nTours begin at 10 am
