DESCRIPTION:Storyteller Mary J. Grant portrays Sojourner Truth in this special black History Month presentation and brings to life this amazing and influential woman who has done much to change our lives for the better on Monday\, January 15 at 1:00 PM in the library’s Erin Auditorium. For all ages no registration is required. \nTruth was born into slavery\, obtained her freedom and became an influential abolitionist and suffragist.  Truth was an amazing speaker and singer\, but illiterate.\nAll records of her were through others’ recollection\, and so it is appropriate that a storyteller speaks for her now\, in the 21st century.
