Summer Reading Challenge 2023: All Together Now!

Zumba Fitness
Wednesdays: July 5 & July 19 at 6:30 PM

The class provides a dynamic calorie-burning form of workout for people of all fitness levels and age groups.
Summer Reading Ending Celebration

The Summer Reading Challenge is coming to an end. Let’s come “All Together Now” one more time and have fun by playing lawn games outside the library!

Bookwalks
Mondays: July 3 – July 24, 10 AM to 7 PM
Hike a path lined by pages of a book on the Library grounds. Participants of the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge can earn points toward your summer reading goal.
Family Movies
Fridays: July 7 & July 21 at 2 PM

Beat the heat and relax while watching one of our summer family films. For movie information, please see our website or call the Library.
Mini and Me
Fridays: July 14 & July 28 at 10 AM
No registration required
Come have a playdate at the library! Children will get a chance to play and socialize with others their age, while the adults get to network and trade stories and tips. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, babysitters, caregivers – all are welcome!

Teen Community Service

High school students: Need service hours? You can make cat and dog blankets and toys for the local animal rescue group, the Macomb County Animal Shelter, at the library and get credit for volunteering for that organization. This event is for ages 14 to 18.
Teen Tabletop Game Night
Wednesday, July 12 at 5:30 PM

Gather with friends for a night of strategy and rpg games. We’ll have a variety of games including Disney Villainous, Dungeons and Dragons, and more. This event is for teens going into grades 7 through 12.
Tween Summer Snack Art Challenge
Wednesday, July 26 at 2 PM
Registration begins July 5
Play with your food and eat it too in this snack filled event. Use common snacks to create a summer themed artwork. The best artwork will win a small prize and of course you can eat your creation at the end of the event. This event is for tweens going into grades 5 through 8.

Piano Concert: Music of the Motor City

Join pianist David Rodgers for a trip through the 1960s sounds of Detroit, Michigan. Featuring solo piano performances of hits by Smokey Robinson, the Supremes, the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and many more, Rodgers will offer historical background info and stories behind the songs, musical trivia, and a question and answer session.
