Meals on wheels Campaign Launch Party

To help promote this National campaign, Macomb Community Action will host a Campaign Launch party from 3 pm to 4:30 pm on Wednesday, Sept 14th at the VerKulen Conference & Training Center, 21885 Dunham Rd, Clinton Twp. 48036.. The Event will celebrate the launch of “America, Let’s Do Lunch” as well as highlight the work of Macomb Community Action.
Meals on Wheels America and Ad Council launch national campaign to drive volunteers and help Macomb Community Action serve more Macomb County seniors
Nationally, more than 10 million seniors in the U.S. face the threat of hunger and more than 15 million are living in isolation. During the past 12 months in Macomb County specifically, more than 3,500 seniors were served home-delivered meals to address these issues. this summer, Meals on Wheels America, in partnership with the Ad Council, has launched its first-ever national campaign, “America, Let’s Do Lunch,” to recruit volunteers to serve the nation’s most vulnerable citizens, seniors, during the critical lunch hour period. With the senior population projected to double by 2050, Macomb Community Action is joining th eeffort to inspire a new army of volunteers to meet the growing need.
