Our annual event, Gilda’s Family 5K Walk & Run, will certainly be a bit different this year as it’s been a challenge to navigate state guidelines, school policies and community access. We are asking each team and member to embrace the event and Gilda’s in ways that work for you and your friends and family.

Plan for a great day. Fundraise as you normally do… But on Saturday, September 12 – don’t go to Royal Oak High School. You’ll be a bit lonely over there! Instead, organize your friends and family to come to your neighborhood or an area park. Or take a 5K moment by yourself. If you gather, maybe bring boxed lunches or snacks and enjoy each other and a nice walk or run to honor Gilda’s Club families who are among the most vulnerable during the challenges of COVID-19.

We appreciate your support this year as we have for 27 years. We are so proud of Gilda’s and the instant turn to connect with our cancer community as COVID-19 brought such challenges to all of us.
