SUMMARY:Eastpointe Memorial Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone! \nThe parade permit was approved and we are again moving forward with the planning for the 2021 Eastpointe Memorial Day Parade! \nWith the challenges of the pandemic and the new route/staging area\, please be sure to fill out and send in your form today! Please do not assume that just because you have participated in past years we will just know you are coming this year.  We are working to update the parade database. \nThe parade will be Memorial Day\, Monday\, May 31st at 11 am. Staging will be at 10 am. \nExact staging locations and information will be sent out at a later date. \nThere will be a few changes this year: \nNew route: The parade will start at the military museum 16600 Stephens (Stephens & Gratiot) and end at Spindler Park (Stephens & I94) the route is just slightly longer than the old one. \nDue to the uncertainties of the pandemic\, we are not planning a ceremony at the end of this year’s parade. To borrow a phrase from our Air Force friends\, the parade will be “turn and burn”. Hopefully we can bring back the ceremony and picnic in 2022. \nWe will give out awards as in the past\, winners will be announced & contacted after the parade\, trophies can be picked up at the museum. \nSince this is the 30th Anniversary of Desert Shield / Desert Storm\, this year’s parade theme will be to remember the 9 Michigan service members who made the ultimate sacrifice in that conflict.\nRegistration forms attached. \nDirect any questions to parade@mimths.org \n2021 sign up form \nHold harmless form \nPlease return forms before 8 May 2021 to\nCity of Eastpointe\nMemorial Day Parade\nC/O MTHS\, P.O.
