DESCRIPTION:Open from January 29 – March 1\, 2022 \nKicking off the 2022 exhibition season\, the Anton Art Center is proud to present Michigan Annual XLIX\, opening on Saturday\, January 29\, 2022. The 49th annual statewide fine art competition and exhibition is the Anton Art Center’s most prestigious show of the year offering $2\,000 in awards\, drawing artists from all over the state. \nMichigan Annual XLIX is juried by Director of Arts & Culture\, Kayrod Gallery at the Hannon Center\, Richard Reeves\, Jr.: “I am very impressed with the caliber of art that the artists in this show submitted. There were no easy decisions when trying to decide what art to hang in the exhibit. The variety of mediums and artistic styles is what is what impressed me the most.” He adds\, “As an artist\, I am inspired most by the passion of other artists. The ability to look at the mundane and make it art is always reassuring.”
